Gilbert Sachs Group experts led a joint US/UK team to develop specifications and configure a new $400K logistics-planning software tool using tools from AspenTech. The system was designed optimize settings at hundreds of plants and plan deliveries made by thousands of vehicles each month.
We created a detailed, 8-month project plan and budget, selected and managed a team of developers and enlisted organization-wide support to create the finished application.
As part of the implementation process, we designed a biweekly meeting cycle, built forecasting capabilities, and developed interfaces to the client’s ERP systems for automated data refresh. The final process became the basis for S&OP within the client’s industrial gas bulk distribution business, and continues to be used today, almost ten years after the project was completed.
Annual benefits of over $800K are being realized and the system is being rolled-out worldwide.
